What we do.

Transactional science is where the value created in the laboratory is turned into agreements, partnerships, and commercial reality. Great science does not commercialise itself; it requires the deals that move it, licensing, technology transfer, joint ventures, and the structuring of rights so that discoveries reach the market on sound terms. This division manages that layer for the group, bridging the gap between what our scientists create and what partners, investors, and markets can use. It works closely with our research, IP, and investment activities, ensuring that promising science is not stranded for want of the right commercial vehicle. Done well, this is a discipline in its own right, combining scientific understanding with the judgement to value, negotiate, and protect. The aim is to make the group a serious counterparty in the business of science, capable of doing deals that are fair, durable, and aligned with the long-term value of the underlying work. Where science meets commerce, this is where the group does business.
