What we do.

Biology and biotechnology are where we apply living systems to real-world problems, from health to industry. This division works with the tools of modern biology, cells, proteins, and biological processes, to develop new products, therapies, and platforms with genuine utility. Our interest is not science for its own sake but science that can be translated: ideas robust enough to leave the laboratory and become something useful and ownable. We pursue programmes with clear potential and the discipline to test them honestly, retiring what does not work and backing what does. Because biotechnology sits at the centre of so much modern value, this division connects outward across the group, into healthcare, laboratory services, and beyond. The field moves quickly, and we intend to move with it, but always anchored to evidence and to applications that matter. The promise of biotechnology is significant, and our job is to convert that promise into products and ventures that stand up to scientific, commercial, and regulatory scrutiny alike.
